I have always wanted to photograph my kids quietly reading in a library surrounded by a shelves and shelves of books.  My problem – I am self conscious of bringing my big camera out in public.  When I do bring it out I quickly rush through taking shots without giving any consideration to exposure or composition and well, quite frankly, I could have done a much better job with my iPhone and Instagram.

My 10 on 10 project is slowing forcing me to work past my ridiculous insecurities of shooting in public.  I actually brought my big camera on my daughter’s field trip to the library.  She, on the other hand, was not overly thrilled that I was turning her day out out of the classroom into a photo shoot in front of her class but nonetheless I received a tiny bit of cooperation.

This was our day with her K/1 class at our local library.
