A big family with even bigger love

When I was contacted to photograph this extended family I was a bit unsure about how it might play out.  When photographing large families there is always the risk of it looking stuffy and formal.  Navigating all the different personalities and family connections can also play a part in the final outcome.  Sibling rivalry, daughters’ in law, brothers’ in law, cousins, mom and dad, grandma and grandpa – the dynamic of all those relationships can be a bit iffy.

But not with this family!!  The love this group has for one another is something to envy.  They laugh together, they play together and they have each other’s back.  Most of them even live on the same street!!  If the world took a page from their book, world peace might actually be a possibility.
