Career Day

I had the pleasure of chatting with my daughter’s class about being a children’s photographer on career day. I brought in some gear, a backdrop stand and few other things I thought might be interesting to them. The children spent a day coming up with questions for me so I only had to do a short presentation and then jump to Q&A. Easy, peasy right?!?

All I have to say is – this generation is cranking out some real thinkers! Their teacher did not assist with determining the questions to be asked, this was solely from the minds of these little Kindergarten and Grade Ones. They asked me questions like:

“How does the camera actually take the picture?”

“Everyone knows how to take a picture, but what is it that makes your pictures special?”

I never imagined that I would be explaining light, composition and the exposure triangle to a group of 5 & 6 year olds. Needless to say, I couldn’t leave without taking a photo of each child. Here are a few of the images from that day. The entire class can be seen here.
